"12-Strand Naiki Gumi Necklace with Handpainted San Miguel de Allende Pendant #15P"

$ 44.00

This gorgeous necklace with a fiber braid and San Miguel de Allende Handpainted pendant is really beautiful and just in time for Spring.  This 12-strand Naiki Gumi braid is created with a combination of Jubilee Ribbon, which lends to the variegated look, and three colors of Petite Kumihimo Nylon Cord.

This necklace is approximately 24" long (depending on braider and individual technique) and it is finished with a glue-in magnetic clasp. The necklace can be finished shorter for those who like a closer fit.

I tried this on both the thick (20mm) and standard (10mm) Kumihimo disks and I liked the 10mm disk better. The thick disk put a little too much stress on the ribbon.

You will learn:This kit teaches you the 12-strand Naiki Gumi braid structure. It is the same as the Edo Yatsu, but with 12-strands instead of 8. It is also the same structure as the Naiki Gumi 20-strand.

You will need: Kumihimo Foam Disk (I prefer the BeadSmith Mini, 10mm, 12 Plastic Bobbins, Scissors, Tape Measure, Needle & thread to finish ends, Glue to attach magnetic clasp (I use WeldBond Universal Glue; available at Ace Hardware and some craft stores).

  • Kumihimo Nylon Satin Cord (3 colors)
