I call this PAINTING WITH BEADS and I love working this way. This is a fun approach to KUMIHIMO and opens all kinds of door for endless creativity. The order in which the beads are threaded determines the variety of patterns. The beaded portion of the necklace is approximately 17″ depending on beads and braiders.The finished length is determined by the placement of your end caps on the braided sections at the start and finish of the braid. You will need: Kumihimo Disk, 8 Bobbins, Scissors, Tape Measure, Needle and Thread, Glue (like Weldbond). You should know: Kumihimo Round Braid (Kongoh-Gumi) and how to “drop” beads. If you need a refresher on braiding with beads, check out Kumihimo Tip #14. While the instructions are written for a disk, they are easily adaptable to the Marudai.
